Read the access details before you go
Public, customer-only, paid, key or code: a practical way to understand the next stop.
Published September 12, 2026
A listing is a starting point
A place can be publicly listed while the actual restroom is on private property. Read the access notes before travelling.
Common conditions
Customer-only can mean a purchase is required. Guest-only can limit entry to people staying at a property. A key or code generally means you need to speak with staff. Paid access may have an unknown or changing price.
When information is missing
Ask before entering. Never assume a missing fee means free access, or that a listing grants permission to enter. Share a factual correction after your visit.
